One of the five original romance languages, Spanish orginated in Spain (hence the name) It is spoken in many regions of the world including Spain, Columbia, Hondurus, Puerto Rico.

Another one of the five original romance language, Portuguese comes in two distinct forms! Brazilian Portuguese and European Portugese have a few distinct difference, much like European Spanish varies from Latin American Spanish!

This West Germanic languages has chaged many times throughout its history. From the High German consonant shift splitting it away from Old Saxon lanuages, to Elder Futhark inscriptions, German has been split many times in its history. Fortuneately, in the end, it came out united.

A romance langauge like Portuguese and Spanish, French has a long and colorful history. According to Wikipedia, French replaced Latin as the most important language of diplomacy and international relations in the 17th century. It was later replaced by English after the second World War.

An East Slavic language that uses the Cyrillic Alphabet, which was created by brothers Cyril and Methodius during the First Bulgarian Empire. Russian is now spoke widely throughout Eastern Europe, although it is only the official language of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Mandarin is a group of closely related Chinese dialects spoken in the North and Southwestern parts of China. Mandarin came into existance hrough the creation of what is referred to as Old Mandarin. Old Mandarin came in to existance after the fall of the Northern Song Dynasty.

This Eastern Asian language is spoken by approximately 125 million people, most of which are located in Japan. Japanese has an unclear history although some believe that it was brought to Japan by settlers coming from either continental Asia or nearby Pacific islands sometime in the early to mid 2nd century BC

Not much is known about this Eastern Asian language. Its official name is Hangungmal. Korean is the official language of both South and North Korea although both recgonize the language by a seperate name. Not much is known about this language, but there is small speculation that Korean came from Japanese. Unfortunately, this can't be determined because of possible "heavy-borrowing" used between the two nations' cultures.

This language has its own independent branch on the Indo-European family tree. It is also the oldest Indo-European language, spanning 34 known centuries. Greek is thought to have been around since the 3rd millinium B.C.. Greek was used for travel, trade and education making it one of the top languages in the world... until Latin took over during the time o the Roman Empire.

This Canaanite language and, in turn, Northwest Semitic language. Hebrew existed as a spoken language in the kingdoms of Israel and Judah, during about 1200 to 586 BCE. Hebrew is one of the official languages of the country of Israel. The other is Arabic. The Torah and the Hebrew Bible are written in Biblical Hebrew!
